You can post to both tumblr and wordpress. Now I can waste twice as much space on the internet.
A few friends and co workers have asked me about my recent install of Mac OS Lion on my PC. Some people seemed hesitant with the process but I assure you if you understand what a harddrive is, programmed a vcr, set up the connections to the back of a TV then you really shouldn’t have a problem with this project.
Step 1: Get the parts and have everything setup (no more then a 1-3 hr process). There are a million videos on how put everything together on youtube. Its easier then most lego sets I’v played with.
A great resource is kakewalk.se
Here the author list really easy to install systems ($500, $800, $1000) that he has already pre picked. These special recipes he’s concocted are pretty much guaranteed to be frustration free. Also compare the specs on this $1000 build to anything in Apples store. Just mind boggling how much more you get and how high the apple tax on products are. You’ll get MORE ram, more harddrive space and a graphics card thats prob a good 5-10x faster then the one included in the top end imac or low end mac pro.
Step 2: All you need is a friends mac to prepare a 8 gb usb drive to install Lion. You run the Kakewalk installer, point it to the flash drive and the lion installer that you can download from the apple app store and then stick the thing in your own computer. Really thats about it.
Step 3: Install Lion. Its a series of next and yes to the installer. Entire process takes 20 minutes.
Step 4: Feel smug that you saved a shitload of money AND got a better product.
